This is the first time I've ever written a proper blog so bear with me!
I wanted to write about my recent trip to Hawthorns Printmaking Supplies in York, where I go to print most of my work.
I've known the family run business since the time that I was a member of York Printmakers, and Barry and Michael are so knowledgeable about everything print related. They even make their own presses, rollers and inks onsite! It's a must visit if you're in the area, or they have an online store which ships all over the world.
They very kindly let me pop in every few months to use their etching press and ink samples, I never go with a plan as there's always something new to play with.
This visit was especially exciting, as I had Jen Peters with me of Shoots and Stories Photography to take some process shots. She got some great images of me printing and carving which will be perfect to use on this website and in the socials.
Jen even dived in, printing the song lyrics by Submotion Orchestra that she had commissioned from me!
